They'd all checked into their hotel rooms, and Eric had some time to talk to Fez and Kelso about the idea he'd had. He managed to grab Jackie quickly in the hallway and tell her, too, which had made her doubly excited. He just shook his head. There would be no living with Jackie for a very long time now that they were engaged.

He still needed to talk to Hyde about that whole thing. It was just... weird.

"So Donna, got those special brownies baked?" Oh, and when he said baked, he was sure she knew what he meant. Since it had been her idea after all.

They were lucky that these rooms came with a mini-kitchen. Donna had spent the entire day within it, trying to work up a batch as quickly as possible for the big night with the little stash that they did manage to sneak with them. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to bake special brownies, but rather special cupcakes. The stupid store nearby was out of brownie batter and she was getting a little tired of trying to read the French labels.

Beaming brightly with accomplishment, the once redhead frantically waved her hand over her baked goods to cool them off. "I hope these things won't crumble too much," she muttered before turning her attention to Eric and shaking her head. "They are definitely not a masterpiece like your mother's .. but I think they'll be good enough. Wanna give one a try?"

"Aw, Donna, you're giving my mom too much credit. I mean, she's never baked special anything before," he grinned. Eaten? Oh, yes. And that was something he wasn't likely to forget anytime soon.

He grabbed one of Donna's cupcakes and took a bite, paused, grinned, nodded, and took another bite. "Mother of God, there is something better than sex," he mumbled, jokingly. "Seriously, these are great. Hyde'll love them since... well, since otherwise he'd probably kick all our asses for simply remembering his birthday."

Eric sat down and smiled at Donna. "Oh, yeah... working already." He paused. "Say, when did you learn French?" Maybe that had been Our Lady of Perpetual Sorrow or something.

Fez skipped into the room, excited about the idea of a party. He had been able to figure out the radio in his room, and had managed to find a good disco station. Disco was always good, even in French, since the words really didn't matter, just the beat.

He took two steps into the room and stopped, his mouth open and eyes wide.

"You made brownies?! We are in another country and you still made brownies?" Fez hopped up and down happily. "I would very much like to marry you, Donna."

Jackie thought that Eric's idea was perfect. What better way to get Steven's mind off their engagement and all the stuff she was already planning for it than a party for his 20th birthday?!?!

She'd managed to tell Steven to just meet her in Eric's room for a Circle, since he'd suggested it before, but she was lying. She snuck over there first and was totally ready to jump up and yell "surprise" when he came in!

"Fez, those are cupcakes, not brownies, moron!!!" Whatever. It was still sweet of Donna, and this? Would be the best party ever!!!

Forman had warned him. Hyde could even hear them through the door. And yet, he knew damn well that he was going to open that door and walk into a surprise birthday party. Red's words sprang to mind as they often did on occasions like this, the ones telling him that there would always be times he had to bite the bullet and be humiliated.

At least this time there wouldn't be any hugging (except from Jackie) and definitely no ugly sweaters.

He opened the door.

"Surprise, man!!!" Kelso got to say it first! Okay, so maybe he'd had a beer in honor of Hyde's big day before coming over like Eric had said, but it was still fun.

Besides, Donna had made birthday cupcakes that tasted really good...

"Happy Birthday, Hyde. Now, for your first present, some advice." He paused. "Run now while you're still single! Hurry!" Because... c'mon, man. Hyde and Jackie?
